I posted it in the “Forever Cars” thread and got a LOT of responses. Only one person was a little shitty about it, which was shocking to me.

Another guy posted his Ferrari Daytona, and the Sunbird received almost as many stars. We Jalops and Oppos are an odd bunch. I like it that way.

I think most people realize that people’s tastes in cars, just like their tastes in many other aspects of life, are just different and the phrase “to each his (or her) own” applies more and more  as you become an adult.

My only guess is the sunbird is getting mixed up with the sunfire, the sunfire really was a POS. I apologize in advance if these cars are related by anything but name. My experience with the sunfire is driving a relatively new one from Butte MT to Evanston WY in the winter, 1/2 of the vents were broken, the blinker stalk was broken and it smelled like it had carried cows and pigs. This car was about 2 years old and had 30,000 miles on it.... It was owned by a “farm girl” who had breath that could kill a large pine tree.

I’m not a fan of J-bodies BUT it’s a red nearly antique coupe, and posssibly the nicest existing sunbird.  If the seats were ripped and it was 5 different colours with a fartcan and lambo doors it’d be different,  But there’s nothing wrong with loving that car.
